Does EU funding increase the financial capacity of NPOs?
Education is a crucial factor for local and regional development. In a recently published study, Oto Potluka, together with other researchers, tested whether EU funding for education has helped non-profit organizations (NPOs) in the Czech Republic to improve their financial capacity.The results show that EU-funded education NPOs have higher revenues than non-funded education NPOs. However, no differences in wealth were found between these two groups of NPOs. This leads to the conclusion that EU funding helps to improve the budgets of NPOs in the short term, but does not increase their assets.
