Even in the 21st century, a relatively large part of the world's population is still confronted with war on a daily basis. Many people are exposed to great suffering without being able to significantly influence the situation. NPOs play an important role in alleviating this suffering. Isabel Prinzing, Head of Communications at swisspeace, reflects in the lead article on the role of NPOs in these difficult situations.
In the interview, we spoke with an organization to which many Swiss donated at the beginning of the Ukraine conflict. Ernst Lüber, director of Swiss Solidarity's program department, answered our questions about the organization's general approach as well as the specific situation in Ukraine.
