New Bulletin Philanthropie Aktuell 3/2025: Donations and Social Change

New data on donation behaviour provides a nuanced picture: On the one hand, Switzerland offers globally leading framework conditions for philanthropic action at the macro level. On the other hand, individual generosity lags behind in international comparisons. This striking discrepancy becomes clear when contrasting the Global Philanthropy Environment Index (GPEI) with the World Giving Report (WGR).

In our lead article, our researcher Abigail examines this “macro–micro gap” and discusses what the so-called “wealth-generosity paradox” means for Switzerland.
